The introduction of a standard electronic control unit (ECU) has seen the elimination of traction control on Formula 1 race cars for the 2008 F1 season. According to Panasonic Toyota Racing driver Jarno Trulli, the traction control ban compels drivers to demonstrate their driving abilities at a higher level.
