Many of you may think of Australia as being not much more than dirt and desert. In truth, this country has much to offer people in all walks of life. I recently visited family in Australia and was very surprised at what I found.
Most people tend to forget that this is a continent and has miles of beaches. These beaches are covered in beautiful white sand and surrounded by majestic blue waters. Snorkeling, diving, and surfing are abundant in this far away land. The waters are over flowing with marine life and reefs along with submarines and underwater caves waiting to be explored.
The night life in Sydney was spectacular. They had concerts and music festivals and so many other activities I couldn’t keep up. We always had plenty to keep us occupied and there was never a dull moment. We took a yacht into the harbor and sailed past the opera house; what a gorgeous site!
And yes they do have those deserts but they were not like I thought they would be. Even in the desert we found magnificent purple vegetation and even a lush green oasis or two. It is also a rock climber paradise. We had a blast and it was almost spiritual being in an ancient land with landscapes as far as the eye can see. The sunsets alone were worth what we paid for the trip.
People were so friendly and made us feel welcome and at home in the native land. They have magnificent carvings to be explored and stories to tell by the camp fire. Sunsets were breath taking and the over all experience was one to be relived again and again.
This turned out to be a vacation of a lifetime and I would gladly go back again. If you have the chance then I say go for it. You’ll never regret giving it a try.
