Quite a lot of people will not visit London as they have heard it is one of the most expensive cities in the world. But there are plenty of things to do and see that won’t actually cost you anything or very much to enjoy. Below we take a look at some of things that you can do which will ensure you enjoy a visit to London on a budget.
Shows
If you would like to take in one of the many that are on at the city’s various theatres to save yourself some money we would recommend you purchase them before you take your trip. Not only will this reduce the cost but you won’t be faced with the hassle of having to stand in queues. Plus if you intend to visit London with a group of friends by purchasing say 10 tickets or more could actually result in you saving even more money.
Attractions
Of course when visiting London the kids would like to visit the zoo and the aquarium, which are quite expensive to visit. However there are plenty of other great attractions in the city that you can enjoy with them that won’t cost you anything. London has many museums and nearly every single one of the major museums in London such as Victoria & Albert and the Museum of London don’t charge an entry fee for you to spend time exploring them. Also why not take in other attractions like Hamley’s, Harrods and Selfridges. These stores are quite happy to let you wander around them without making any sort of purchase. However if with children take a firm hold on them when visiting Hamley’s as they are likely to want everything that they see.
Food
When you are visiting London on a budget there are plenty of places to have really nice food that won’t break the back. Yes you can take in the usual fast food outlets that are dotted around the city but there are plenty of other wonderful places to consider. Why not consider visiting one of the many pubs which offer well prepared food at prices that are very affordable. Also consider walking down some of the less well known streets and you are likely to find some really superb cafes.
Parks
London is known as the greenest capital in the world and has numerous different parks that not only visitors but those who live and work in the city can enjoy. All of the parks are open to the public throughout the year and offer plenty of open spaces where you can relax and unwind when the weather is warm. When it comes to visiting London on a budget the parks that we would recommend you visit include Hyde Park, Regent’s Park and St James’s Park. All offer a number of different things for you to see and each has plenty of activities for children to enjoy.
