When somebody asks me to list the attributes of Manhattan, I really don’t know where to start! It’s lively, convenient and utterly beautiful; once you visit New York it will become one of your favorite places in the world.
I’ve done a great deal of exploring since I became a resident of Manhattan and the diverse people and places just blows me away. The only problem with New York is the sheer size of it; you never feel fully part of it, however hard you try.
From now on I’m concentrating on the best areas of Manhattan. I’m backing up my opinions with the reasons behind why I think they’re so great. This is the real New York, so try them out next time you visit.
One of my favorite areas is the amazing East Village. This is where I prefer to spend my evenings in the many wonderful bars and restaurants.
If you want to shop for clothes, grab a drink, or choose from a great variety of food styles, the East Village is the place for you. Geared towards the younger age group of twenties and thirties, this square mile is busy, vibrant and very cosmopolitan. The Lower East side borders it at the bottom and it’s very easy to cross from one to other without realising it.
If you are looking for somewhere that caters more for those out of the East Village age bracket, head for the West Village. The trees that line the sidewalks outside the boutiques and cafes add to the attraction of this area. If you like a lively atmosphere coupled with lovely scenery, this is the place for you.
One of the most naturally beautiful parts of the wonderful city is Central Park. Residing in the area known as the Upper West Side, this combines everything that you expect from Manhattan; style and elegance.
So now you know my favorite areas of Manhattan. Trust me, I could sit here and boast about this amazing city all day, but I’m going to stop now before I bombard you!
